BRINGING BACK BYRNE

Talking Heads superstar David Byrne brings his acclaimed rock spectacle American Utopia back to Broadway beginning Friday, September 17, 2021, and tickets are now on sale at American Utopia.

Spike Lee’s terrific filmed version premiered on HBO last October. “With the launch of the movie, people have been asking me when they can get tickets to see the show back on Broadway,” said David Byrne. “We are in the final stages of finalizing a theater which we will be able to announce soon. We all need things to look forward to at this time. I can’t wait to get back on stage, live, in person with my fellow band members to perform for audiences in person. I realize now, more than ever, how much I miss performing this show with the band in front of a live Broadway audience.”

Byrne will perform songs from his new album, American Utopia, as well as classics from his solo career and his days with Talking Heads. He called his Annie-B Parson choreographed concert “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense.” Byrne is joined by 11 diverse musicians from around the globe: Jacquelene Acevedo, Gustavo Di Dalva, Daniel Freedman, Chris Giarmo, Tim Keiper, Tendayi Kuumba, Karl Mansfield, Mauro Refosco, Stéphane San Juan, Angie Swan and Bobby Wooten III. Karl Mansfield and Mauro Refosco are the Musical Directors.
