TOP 7 CASINO MOVIES OF ALL TIME

While taking a break from gambling, you can steal a couple of moves or simply have a great time watching some of the very best casino movies ever. Check out our list of must-watch shows for some inspiration. This list was brought to you by Gclub casino, one of the Asia’s best gaming sites.

Casino

This movie brings viewers behind the scenes and shows more of the mob action rather than a typical shiny casino life. Scorsese has his way around organized crime movies, so if you’re looking for God’s father vibe – this is the one to go.

Rounders

If poker is the game of your kind -Rounders is undoubtedly the movie for you. Within poker circles, no other film comes close to depicting the game. Like other movies in the genre, Edward Norton’s character falls into debt and needs one big score to get out of the hole. His friend tries to get his friend Worm out of debt after getting released from prison and build his bankroll to make a run at the WSOP Main Event.

The Cooler

Bernie Lootz, played by William H. Macy, killing high stakes action at the tables for mobsters. All of a sudden, Bernie falls in love with a cocktail waitress working at the casino, and everything turns to mess. The movie literally has everything in it: love, gamble, redemption. On top of that, Bernie finds himself in between old mobsters and new gangs. Dynamic scenario, great cast, and unexpected turns.

The Gambler

The Gambler is a 2014 remake of the 1974 film The Gambler. Wahlberg is a literature college professor during the day and a reckless gambler who is down on his luck at the time. Wahlberg’s character, Jim, tries to get his life back in order. This role wasn’t typical for Mark. Rather than being a hero, the plot kind of emphasizes all of Jim’s flaws. Great dialogues about choices, happiness, talent, and life in general.

Mississippi Grind

Another poker movie starring Ben Mendelsohn (Gerry) and Ryan Reynolds (Curtis). Gerry teams up with a charismatic poker player to overcome his financial hardships. The two have visions of going on a road trip to play in private games, chasing a big payday. This movie shows the life of gamblers

Ocean’s Eleven

The 2011 Ocean’s Eleven movie featured an all-star cast of actors, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia and Don Cheadle. This suspensful action tells a story about an immaculate robbery of three casinos at the same time. It’s more of a relaxing movie, so it’s going to feel good if you’re in a mood for a quality action.

High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story

Now this one is based on the true story. More of a serious movie about the rise and fall of Stu Ungar. He was a genius of a poker player, and the youngest player to win the World Series of Poker and a drug addict. He is believed to be the best poker player of all time by many. Stu was one of the first poker players to use aggression in No-Limit Texas Hold ’em effectively.
