CELEBRATE ’60’S MUSICALS WITH BRIAN CHENEY

The 1960’s may have been one of the most turbulent decades in history, but it also gave a boost to the arts in their many forms. Music and theater thrived individually, but together they gave us some of the best musicals Broadway has ever known. In fact, from Cabaret to Hello, Dolly! to She Loves Me to Fiddler on the Roof, many of these shows are still on the boards.

Now, the wonderful American Tenor Brian Cheney, who has been giving thirty-minute Stageit recitals from his home since the quarantine began, will celebrate the final decade of Broadway’s Golden Age this Thursday, 7/16/20 at 7pm EST (4pm PST). This versatile singer has impressively shown his flexibility as a performing artist of multiple genres by offering programs ranging from “Verdi & Puccini – Tenor Hits”, “Musical Theatre Favorites”, “Movie Musicals”, “Viennese Operetta” to French, English and Italian Art Song all from his home studio in a full HD audio and video experience. Know that these are live, and cannot be streamed after the fact, which is what makes them even more fun.

Joining Cheney in their fourth split screen performance together is Cathy Venable. The classically trained pianist will accompany Cheney for this concert program of Broadway favorites from the 1960’s. The duo has beautifully shown how performing artists can pivot and adjust to an online platform while maintaining a quality broadcast that will make you ask, “How are they doing this?” Tickets for this event are “pay what you can” and can be purchased at Stageit.
