LYRICAL LYRIS COMES TO THE MUSIC GUILD

How many times have I seen The Lyris Quartet perform? I’ve actually lost count. But each time, whether in an intimate space or a grand hall, whether mastering old masters or modern music, this Los Angeles-based string quartet always wins my heart. The Lyris Quartet also travels frequently, so catching them here isn’t always easy. And when they are here, they may be in somewhere like, you know, The Hollywood Bowl (they appeared with Kraftwerk last year), so catch the upcoming opportunity to see Lyris in three intimate venues Mon.-Wed., March 20-22, 2017.

Sponsored by The Music Guild (now in its 72nd season!), Lyris offers Schubert’s Quarttsatz in C Minor and Britten’s String Quartet No. 2 in C Major. Then they will be joined by the great Robert deMaine, Principal Cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic to perform Schubert’s Cello Quintet in C Major, Op. 163.
