CROSS OVER INTO IMPRO’S TWILIGHT ZONE

After last year’s crop of run-of-the-mill Christmas plays, I swore off any theater that even alludes to the holidays. Now, I must eat my words. Opening tonight and running through Dec. 21, those daringly innovative long-form improvisers, Impro Theatre, bring Twilight Zone UnScripted: Holiday Version to The Carrie Hamilton Theatre. The gang will concoct 4 all-new and completely improvised episodes in the style of classic 60’s sci-fi television shows–with a holiday twist–at every performance. Miss Messiah, neglect Nutcracker, reject Rudolph, and consign to oblivion A Christmas Carol, but do not miss this inventive dimension of delirious darkness. Check out Jason Rohrer’s review on Stage and Cinema and his piece on Impro Theatre for American Theater Magazine.

This truly is a journey to a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. And each of the performances is so radically different that you can see it over and over again. Not only are all shows completely improvised, but each cast is different.
